Star Academy's Summer Programme

Proof, if proof were needed, that our children learn best when they’re having fun will be there for all to see during our Summer programme 2011. Why not come and see what your child's education could be like? Summer Showtime is a brilliant way to achieve the best of both worlds – academics and fun thematic learning.

Games People Play (July 4 – 8).  – An exciting week of looking at the evolution of various cultural games then building life-size versions to play with! Using a variety of media the campers will create a large outdoor chess game, build an African theme of Snakes and Vines and so much more…

Lights, Camera, Action! (July 11 – 15)  Looking beyond the forest to see the trees. Zooming in on the finer details of digital photography and feature films. Campers will push their creativity to the limit and create their own photographs or design their own feature film!

Mind, Movement and Music (July 18 – 22).  Does physical activity improve the mind? Participate in this action packed week of dance (Hip Hop), games (soccer) and music and see what your mind can do!

Invent, Design, Create (July 25 – 29) From the simplest invention to the more complex team creation – the sky is the limit. Whether you are an engineer  or an artist, this week is designed to explore an unlimited number of possibilities working with experts in the field.

Each week will culminate in a performance for friends and families. With record numbers last year, we hope to grow still further in 2011. The atmosphere is terrific throughout in a programme designed and staffed to accommodate JK-Gr. 8 kids of all abilities. Everyone will leave better equipped than they arrived. Problem solving, working as a team, learning new skills, and all the while keeping the mind active in ways that promote an easier transition back into the new school year.

Remember you can participate for any combination of weeks (8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.) and all our Summer programmes are designed for students from JK – Gr. 8. Summer Showtime 2011 registration is on a first come first served basis. Costs $285 per week ($225 for siblings).
